SNSD President Milorad Dodik congratulated United States President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on the recently announced news of a historic mission to rescue two American pilots, one of whom was seriously wounded, in the Iranian desert.
“The rescue operation was carried out by the U.S. Army and the CIA. Exceptional military equipment, as well as the skill and expertise of American soldiers on the ground, made this dangerous operation successful and heroic. We proudly recall a situation from our more distant history, during World War II, when in Operation Halyard, the then Yugoslav Army in the Homeland, composed exclusively of Serbs, together with the U.S. Office of Strategic Services (OSS), organized the sheltering and evacuation of over 500 Allied pilots (mostly Americans),” Dodik wrote in a post on the social network X.
Dodik added that “we were allies then, and we intend to be so again.”
“Congratulations on your courage, President Trump, on your decision, and to everyone who participated in this heroic action and victory in the Iranian desert,” Dodik said.
