Bjegović for RTRS: Formation of a Military Alliance Between Zagreb, Tirana and Pristina an Open Security Threat

After SNSD leader Milorad Dodik stated at yesterday’s session of the party’s Presidency that the influence of a military alliance between Zagreb, Tirana and Pristina had been discussed, security studies professor Miroslav Bjegović commented for RTRS, saying that Dodik’s initiative is an appropriate opportunity to address issues that primarily threaten the interests of the Serb people, and consequently the interests of Republika Srpska and Serbia.

“The formation of such a military alliance represents a direct and open security threat, primarily to the territorial integrity of both Serbia and Republika Srpska,” Bjegović emphasized.

He added that Republika Srpska and Serbia should coordinate through a joint meeting on further activities aimed at defending and protecting their territories and the security of the Serb people.

“Unfortunately, it is clear what Croatia, Albania and the so-called Kosovo are trying to achieve. Our response must be adequate measures, such as those undertaken by Serbia and President Vučić, where significant investments are being made primarily in the defense capacities of the Serbian Armed Forces—through armament and equipment—precisely because of those with ill intentions,” Bjegović said.

He noted that when the Serb people are united in defending their territory and their state and national interests, they are then unquestionably unbreakable and invincible.

It should be recalled that Dodik previously described this military alliance as a direct threat to Republika Srpska.
