The Association of Officers of the Army of Republika Srpska stated that the policy of the NATO, which it claims is increasingly being applied by the European Union, leads to decline and disappearance, and that the Serb people must clearly define their position toward integration processes.
The organization emphasized that the events during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia show that, in the context of the current global crisis, neutrality represents the best position for the Serb people.
They added that NATO lobbying efforts should always be countered by recalling the bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Republika Srpska, as well as the suffering of innocent civilians, especially children.
“The policy of the NATO alliance, which is increasingly being implemented in practice by the European Union, leads nowhere but toward decline and disappearance. Therefore, the Serb people must clearly define their stance toward such integrations,” the statement said.
The organization stressed the importance of reminding the world each year of what they described as NATO actions during the 78-day campaign over the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
They also noted that throughout history, the Serb people have shown resilience when organized, guided by patriotism, and supported by their own state.
“We highly value the commitment of Serbia and Republika Srpska to the principles of international law and morality, but the same must be demanded from other domestic and international actors. Such commitment must not, in any way, endanger the survival of the Serb people,” the statement concluded.
NATO launched its campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on March 24, 1999. During the 78 days of bombing, 126 children aged between 11 months and 17 years were killed.
