The founding assembly held at the Banski dvor marked the establishment of the Association of Patriots of Republika Srpska.
The association brings together organizations originating from the Homeland Defense War, members of the academic community, and has the support of representatives of institutions of Republika Srpska.
Professor Dr. Slobodan Župljanin was elected president of the Association.
One of the key modes of operation will be institutional engagement, with “patriot” highlighted as a central concept in its future work. Political parties and institutions are expected to support this approach.
The Association also plans a more open approach to the public through round tables, academic forums, expert discussions in educational institutions, and teaching and research programs.
According to reports, three vice presidents were appointed: Professor Dr. Ljubinko Mitrović, Assistant Professor Dr. Darko Matijašević, and Ognjen Vukojević from the Youth Council of Republika Srpska.
Professor Dr. Vitomir Popović from Banja Luka was elected president of the Assembly of the organization.
More than 20 associations have joined the newly established body.
