The novel “Zera Luče” by Jasenka Lalović, which speaks about the light that can be found even in the darkest times and is dedicated to courage and faith in goodness despite hardships, was promoted at the House of Culture Jevto Dedijer in Bileća.
Lalović, one of the most widely read authors in the region, said that “Zera Luče” in some ways continues the themes of her earlier books, while at the same time representing a certain step forward.
“The structure of the novel goes deeper into the psychological dimension, and it seems to be aimed at a somewhat younger audience. Already in the period since the book was published, it has proven to be so,” Lalović said.
She added that each of her books is a small research journey in which she seeks personal answers and tries to shape certain reflections.
“I think this book has brought new content. The reactions from readers so far have been very positive,” Lalović noted.
She also revealed that she is already working on a new manuscript—a book that will take the form of a travel narrative.
“I enjoy geographical and historical challenges, and I hope the book will be finished by autumn and ready for readers,” Lalović said.
The promotion was organized by the National Library Vladimir Gaćinović. Librarian Irena Dunđer reminded the audience that Lalović had previously visited Bileća to present her trilogy “Brda od pelina”.
She added that Lalović is among the most widely read authors in the Bileća library.
Speaking about the novel “Zera Luče,” Dunđer described it as a powerful and emotional story about a woman, family, and heritage.
“It is also a story about the invisible threads that connect generations. The novel is built through layered storytelling in which the past and present intertwine, along with family memories and individual experiences,” Dunđer said.
