Head of the caucus of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Srđan Mazalica said that in Bosnia and Herzegovina everything is subject to abuse, including the instruments of foreign policy.
Mazalica stated that Željko Komšić and Elmedin Konaković are disoriented in foreign policy, while domestically they are engaged in a pre-election battle.
He pointed out that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina should adopt a position on every resolution passed by the United Nations Security Council, such as the one concerning Iran.
“But the so-called ‘Sarajevo harmony’ prevailed, so by bypassing the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other two members of the Presidency allowed Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković to instruct ambassadors and missions as he pleased, or they allowed them to vote independently. Of course, outside the procedure prescribed by the Constitution,” Mazalica wrote on X.
Komšić and Konaković today criticized each other over the decision for Bosnia and Herzegovina to co-sponsor a resolution condemning Iran’s actions.
Komšić said he was against the decision and had conveyed that position several times to Zlatko Lagumdžija. However, Konaković confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported the resolution and accused Komšić of inactivity and avoiding clear positions.
