Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska marks 70 years of existence, joint projects with RTRS

On the occasion of marking 70 years since the founding of the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska, filming of performances began today as part of a joint project of the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska and Radio Television of Republika Srpska under the working title “Art archiving”.

From the stage to television screens. With the filming of the play “The Seven Ravens”, the series officially began, aiming to make the most significant works of the Children’s Theatre part of the cultural and artistic heritage of Republika Srpska.

“We had a premiere a few years ago, and now we have decided to cooperate with RTRS to present the play to our audience and also to have it in our archive one day. I hope the first cooperation will be successful, as we will produce three screen adaptations this year,” said actress Aleksandra Spasojević.

Ljiljana Labović, director of the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska, stated that it is very important for the institution to witness the fact that the Public Service will record the play “The Seven Ravens” and that a very important national task is being undertaken.

“We want to archive masterpieces of puppetry art that we have the opportunity to watch on the stage of the Children’s Theatre,” Labović said.

Directed by Radoslav Pandurević, the plays “Kobolds” and “Jablan” will also have their television premieres.

“We will start with a quote from the film ‘This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship’. I hope for excellent cooperation with the actors of the Children’s Theatre and that children who are not able to watch the play live will have the opportunity to see it on television,” Pandurević said.

These multiple award-winning productions, which have marked the repertoire of the Children’s Theatre, will gain new life through the television format and become accessible to a wider audience.

At the same time, they will be preserved as a valuable testimony of contemporary theatrical creation.
