Concert of the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska held

The Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, under the baton of conductor Dušan Pokrajčić, held a concert this evening at the “Konstantin Babić” Music School in Prnjavor as part of the program marking the 40th anniversary of the institution.

The orchestra’s head, Jelena Atlagić, told SRNA that through this concert, both the Ministry and the orchestra are demonstrating their support for all local communities.

“It is an honor to take part in marking this major jubilee at an educational institution that trains young talents, some of whom may one day become our colleagues,” Atlagić said.

She added that the concert featured a diverse program, with students and the school choir performing several pieces alongside the orchestra.

The director of the Music School in Prnjavor, Tina Raković, said that the concert is the result of long-standing cooperation with the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, which began through educational concerts organized for students and joint performances in Banja Luka.

“We are pleased that such activities benefit everyone, and I believe the audience enjoyed some different sounds tonight. We are proud that members of the orchestra include our school’s professors Deana Simić and Saša Radonjić, which gives this concert additional, special emotion,” Raković said.

Solfeggio professor Dijana Lukić noted that young people in Prnjavor are interested in music and show particular affinity for solo singing, introduced a few years ago, as well as for theoretical and instrumental programs, especially piano and accordion.

The concert was preceded by lectures for students and teachers delivered by Ivana Zečević from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Banja Luka.

The jubilee program marking four decades of successful work of the “Konstantin Babić” School for Primary and Secondary Music Education in Prnjavor includes a total of 40 activities, such as concerts, masterclasses, lectures, workshops, and a photography exhibition created as part of a student photo competition.

Tomorrow’s program includes a lecture and masterclass for flutists and clarinetists led by professors from the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka, as well as an educational concert titled “Konstantin Babić” and an evening concert “Flute, Clarinet, Oboe” performed by students of the Prnjavor Music School and students of the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka.

The event will conclude on February 20 with a joint concert by the Banja Luka City Tamburitza Orchestra and students of the “Konstantin Babić” Music School.
