An exhibition by award-winning students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Banja Luka, Katarina Bursać and Maja Grabovica, has opened at the “Sreten Stojanović” Gallery in Prijedor. The exhibition features works from Bursać’s cycle Blueness and Grabovica’s cycle Skin.
Maja Grabovica is a student at the Painting Department, while Katarina Bursać studies at the Graphics Department. They were awarded at the annual exhibition of students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Banja Luka.
Katarina Bursać says that the focus of her artistic research is the concept of rhythm.
“The theme of my artistic research revolves around the concepts of rhythm, movement, and dynamics through the motif of water. For me, water represents certain emotional states. It is somewhat ambiguous, because at times it is calm, and at other times restless,” Bursać said.
Maja Grabovica emphasizes that her main message is the questioning of personal identity.
“My main message is to question our personal identity, how to connect our experiences and how to present them. It is mostly related to personal experience,” Grabovica said.
Since its founding, the “Sreten Stojanović” Gallery has been organizing exhibitions of award-winning students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Banja Luka.
The gallery’s director, Boris Eremić, says that the audience again has the opportunity to see a very interesting exhibition this year.
“Certainly one of the best student exhibitions, in my humble opinion, in the 30 years of the gallery’s existence,” Eremić said.
The gallery announced that next week it will host a concert of opera music, and by the end of the month a promotion of a monograph dedicated to actor Žarko Laušević, the first of its kind in Republika Srpska.
