During her multi-day visit to the United States, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, held a number of meetings with senior officials.
Cvijanović met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
She shared information about the outcome of the meeting on social media, describing the talks as excellent and noting that the key topics included current political, economic, and security issues.
“This was also an opportunity to discuss the improvement of economic relations, as well as overall relations with the United States,” Cvijanović said.
She emphasized that she was grateful to her interlocutor for the cooperation to date and, as she stated, for the understanding shown toward the positions she represents, adding that she looks forward to continued cooperation.
This meeting marked the conclusion of Željka Cvijanović’s several-day visit to Washington, during which she established numerous contacts with senior officials of the new U.S. administration and individuals close to President Donald Trump.
During her stay in the United States, Cvijanović also met with Howard Lutnick, U.S. Secretary of Commerce, as well as with the new Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
Meetings at the White House
Notable meetings were also held at the White House itself. Cvijanović spoke with Karoline Leavitt, press secretary to U.S. President Donald Trump, and also met with Sebastian Gorka, Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the U.S. National Security Council.
With regard to the legislative branch, Cvijanović held a meeting with Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Among the many members of Congress she met with were Anna Paulina Luna, Claudia Tenney, Blake Moore, Pat Harrigan, and Democrat April Delaney.
During her visit, Cvijanović also attended the 74th National Prayer Breakfast, where President Donald Trump addressed participants, and took part in the “Balkans Forward Summit” organized by the Atlantic Council.
The delegation from Republika Srpska visiting Washington also included Acting President Ana Trivišić Babić and Milorad Dodik.
