The new approach of the U.S. administration is encouraging. Republika Srpska wants a democratic life without foreigners imposing decisions, said Serb member of the Presidency Željka Cvijanović in Washington at the “BalkansForward Summit,” organized by the Atlantic Council.
She said she had productive meetings in Washington.
“I am very happy that there is a different approach by the United States toward Bosnia and Herzegovina. Republika Srpska has expectations for this year. The United States now has the same approach toward everyone in BiH,” she said.
She stressed that Srpska is interested in U.S. investments.
“I would say that, for the first time, there is an economic approach when it comes to economic projects. At the moment, discussions are being held with the Federation, one of the entities, where the Southern Interconnection project will be implemented. This was one of the topics in my talks with various representatives here, so that we could do the same in Republika Srpska, because we are interested in having U.S. investments,” Cvijanović emphasized.
She underlined that it is very important that the United States has lifted sanctions on individuals and companies from Srpska.
“We want to achieve economic and political benefits from cooperation with the United States,” she emphasized.
