“The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska held talks in Banja Luka with the Ambassador of Slovakia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Roman Hloben, on the process of European integration, emphasizing that this process must respect and acknowledge the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the constitutional status and rights of Srpska.”
“Stevandić stressed that Republika Srpska has the political will for the European integration process, but that the solution to the political crisis is not additional pressure on Republika Srpska, rather dialogue and mutual respect for competencies in accordance with the Constitution, the National Assembly said in a statement.”
“He emphasized that discussions on the process of European integration must respect and acknowledge the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the constitutional status and rights of Republika Srpska, in accordance with Article 4(2) of the Treaty on European Union, which stipulates that the EU respects the essential state functions and constitutional order of states, and that all specific features of candidate countries must be respected in the accession process.”
