Pepić: The world is entering a phase most still refuse to see

Major powers are no longer trying to impose a single universal model. Instead, a coordinated order of major power centers is emerging—one in which spheres of influence are acknowledged, interests are drawn more clearly, and ideological narratives give way to raw geopolitics, said Siniša Pepić, an expert in international relations.

“In this new configuration, Brussels is no longer a decision-making center but a periphery lagging behind history. The European Union, as we know it, is losing ground because it was built on bureaucracy rather than power. In the time ahead, decisions will be made by states with strength, resources, and a clear will—not by institutions that live off procedures and press releases,” Pepić said.

He added that Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot and will not move forward until political weight within Europe shifts away from Brussels-style centralism toward sovereigntist forces.

“As long as decisions are imposed from the outside—against the will of the people and the constitutional structure—there will be no stability here, only a prolonged crisis. Everything we see today as pressure on Republika Srpska, including yesterday’s unconstitutional decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is neither accidental nor isolated. It is the reaction of an old order losing control—the system’s retaliation as it feels the ground slipping away, because at this moment of global rupture we have clearly shown that we understand where the world is headed and which side of history we choose,” Pepić noted.

Pepić emphasized that the new order will not be born in Brussels.

“It is taking shape through agreements among major powers, the redefinition of spheres of influence, and the return of state sovereignty as a core value of international relations. When this process is complete, it will be clear that Republika Srpska was not the problem—but one of the first to understand that the world is changing,” he concluded.
