Dodik: Political stability confirmed, completely irrelevant what the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decides

Republika Srpska, by electing a new Government, has confirmed full political responsibility and stability, and it is completely irrelevant what decisions the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina may make, said SNSD President Milorad Dodik.

Dodik stressed that it is entirely irrelevant what the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decides regarding the constitutionality of the previous government, emphasizing that Republika Srpska has fully legitimate institutions.

He said that Sarajevo is persistently trying to impose its agenda on Republika Srpska, including the issue of constitutionality that the opposition is attempting to push.

Dodik believes that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina should have declared itself incompetent, because the Dayton Agreement does not state that it has jurisdiction over the Government, but that this could possibly fall within the competence of the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska.

“They had no right even to accept the case, which shows that they had malicious intentions. What they will do is completely irrelevant; that court disqualified itself long ago,” Dodik told ATV.

If they are ready to undermine the Constitution, which they are supposed to protect, Dodik asked what they can be trusted with at all. He considers the court a breeding ground for the greatest possible corruption, given the way it operates.

“They are trying to introduce unrest in Republika Srpska. In an effort to end this cycle of uncertainty and give them a chance, we said how we intended to proceed with a reconstruction of the Government, and that is exactly what we did,” Dodik said.

He added that there is neither trust nor desire to talk with what he called the “noisy opposition figures” who keep raising objections.

Dodik also pointed out that the opposition does not know what it wants, noting that they left the National Assembly session last night when the vote on the new Government took place.

“They were shouting all day, and when they exhaust themselves with debates throughout the entire day, when it comes time to vote, they walk out. That is an abuse. It is not appropriate to leave during a vote, because that is your duty—you can vote in favor, against, or abstain,” Dodik explained.

He emphasized that the intention is to enter this year strongly, as it is a year of growth, progress, and development.
