The film Mist in the hands by Milana Majar, produced by Radio Television of Republika Srpska, has received the prestigious award for “Best television project in the field of literature” at the 11th International Festival Fathers and Children in Russia. The festival’s professional jury recognized the film’s authentic authorial expression, strong direction, and striking atmosphere.
Named after the short story collection of the same title by Đuro Damjanović, the film Mist in the hands goes beyond the framework of a classic biographical portrait.

It is dedicated to writer Đuro Damjanović, one of the most significant Banja Luka authors and bohemians, whose works have left a lasting mark on Serb literature.
Through carefully reconstructed dramatized scenes inspired by his literary works, this emotional film portrait expresses a deep connection between the author and his literary legacy.
By using authentic archival material and conversations with his friends and associates, the film builds a layered and thoughtfully crafted portrait of a man who, through his writing and way of life, reached the very core of human existence.
The film has been awarded at several international festivals in Portugal, Russia, and Serbia.
Among the recognitions, the main prize at the 28th International Film, Television, and Multimedia Encounter Avanca in Portugal stands out, where the jury unanimously declared it the best film in the world premieres competition program.
The award at the International Festival Fathers and Children further confirms the film’s international recognition and the importance of Đuro Damjanović as one of the key authors whose work has been presented and preserved through a powerful artistic film record.
The International Festival Fathers and Children is held in the city of Oryol, Russia.
It brings together filmmakers from various countries and promotes films that address universal themes of family and intergenerational relations, moral values, history, spirituality, and social responsibility.
The festival program includes various genres: feature films, documentary and animated films, as well as film projects intended for children and families.
