Republika Srpska Day was marked in Brčko as Prime Minister Savo Minić sent messages of peace and tolerance.
The prime minister emphasized that today Republika Srpska is defended through development and by creating a better life for all its citizens.
“Major obligations lie ahead of us. We must continue to develop Republika Srpska. Its existence is not in question, nor will we ever allow it to be questioned. Citizens have expressed their will in a referendum regarding the birthday of Republika Srpska, and that is absolutely indisputable. We will not discuss that,” Minić told journalists ahead of the ceremonial academy.
He added that Republic Day has been celebrated in a festive atmosphere for several days already, and that celebrations will continue in Europe and countries of the region as well, which has been a tradition for more than 30 years.
“Republika Srpska was created in peace. It has its birthday, and we cannot and will not ever give that up, nor do we intend to justify ourselves to anyone,” the prime minister stressed.
He said that Republika Srpska does not send hostile messages to anyone, but is ready to respond to any insult directed at Srpska.
“We defended Republika Srpska, and now we are building economic stability, peace, and development within it. That is how Republika Srpska is defended,” Minić said.
He added that anniversaries are a time to take stock of progress so far, assessing that everything seen in recent days—from Trebinje to today in Brčko—shows that Republika Srpska is clearly on the right path, providing its citizens with quality social and health care, road infrastructure, and overall development.
