Blagojevich: What would Americans do if someone from another country banned the celebration of July 4?

Rod Blagojevich said that Christian Schmidt, whom he accused of dismantling the autonomy of the Serb people, has threatened criminal prosecution against anyone in Republika Srpska who marks Republic Day—“which is essentially July 4 for Americans.”

“Can you imagine what we Americans would do if some foreign bureaucrat from another country told us we were not allowed to celebrate July 4?” asked Blagojevich, a close associate of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Blagojevich recalled that just two days ago, the Serb people in Republika Srpska celebrated Christmas according to Orthodox tradition.

“While they were rejoicing and praying for peace, goodwill, and brotherhood, it is important to remind the American people of the efforts to destroy Republika Srpska—a loyal and steadfast stronghold of Judeo-Christian values in the Western Balkans,” Blagojevich wrote on X.

He noted that 30 years after the Dayton Peace Agreement ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995, an unelected administrator from another country, vested with unlimited and unconstitutional powers, is attempting to rule over the Serb people.

According to Blagojevich, this administrator is gradually dismantling the autonomy of the Serb people with the aim of abolishing self-governance in Republika Srpska and absorbing the Christian minority into a Muslim-majority population under Iranian influence in the heart of Europe.

“Today, the EU’s high representative, Christian Schmidt, has threatened criminal prosecution against anyone in Srpska who celebrates what is, in essence, their July 4. Shocking, but true,” Blagojevich concluded.
