The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, said in Banja Luka that Republika Srpska, even in its 34th year of existence, remains unconquered and committed to preserving its dignity, as well as its constitutional and legal capacities.
Stevandić stated that Republika Srpska was created under impossible geopolitical circumstances, yet those who demonized it and bombed it ultimately signed its creation in Dayton.
“Republika Srpska was isolated from Serbia, at a time of a weak Russia and the absence of any other factor except the so-called new world order, which was at its most aggressive. Yet in our hardest days we endured and reached the point where even those who demonized us and bombed us signed its creation in Dayton,” Stevandić said.
He added that from then until today, those same actors have continued trying to subdue Republika Srpska.
“Republika Srpska remains unconquered in its 34th year. Unconquered are Milorad Dodik, the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government and the Prime Minister, as well as the friendship with Serbia. Everything they tried to undermine has remained unconquered,” Stevandić emphasized.
He stressed that nothing is directed against other peoples, but exclusively toward preserving the dignity of Republika Srpska and its constitutional and legal capacities.
“We will continue to fight and remain unconquered at any cost, and nothing will frighten or intimidate us,” Stevandić said.
The President of the Republika Srpska–Serbia Parliamentary Committee, Dušan Marić, said it is a great honor to be in Banja Luka today and tomorrow and to take part in marking the 34th anniversary of Republika Srpska, especially for him personally, as he spent four years defending it as a member of the Army of Republika Srpska.
“It is also an honor to come here today as a representative of Serbia. In recent years, Serbia and Republika Srpska have achieved increasingly strong cooperation, and the Agreement on Special and Parallel Relations is no longer a dead letter. What is particularly important is the exceptional cooperation in nurturing a culture of remembrance,” Marić said.
