Tadić: Only a day of Republika Srpska’s independence could replace January 9

Lawyer Ognjen Tadić told SRNA that only the day on which Republika Srpska proclaims state independence could replace January 9 as Republic Day, and he urged everyone who attacks this holiday to begin respecting it.

“I don’t understand how those who attack January 9 fail to grasp that, in the consciousness of the people of Republika Srpska, it is perfectly clear that the only date that could replace January 9 as the Day of Republika Srpska would be the day on which its state independence is proclaimed,” Tadić said.

Addressing all those in political Sarajevo who attack January 9, Tadić amicably urged them to respect it as the date of the proclamation of Republika Srpska, which in 1995 accepted the Dayton Peace Agreement as an equal agreement between two entities and three constituent peoples.

January 9 is celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska, which was established on that date in 1992 under its original name, the Republic of the Serb People in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
