With a ceremonial academy and the promotion of a monograph, the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka marked seven decades of existence.
This capital publication provides a comprehensive overview of the theatre’s development, its performances, authors, and artistic achievements in the country and the wider region.
The monograph, conceived by director Ljiljana Labović, includes all relevant data on actors, directors, and employees of the most awarded theatre in Banja Luka.
Labović said that every effort to preserve something from oblivion deserves attention and special recognition.
– This monograph is impressive because the work of the theatre itself is impressive. I am certain that it will reach many addresses, serving as a messenger of the theatre yet to come, or as a beautiful memory of the theatre that once was – Labović said.
Decades of theatrical magic, numerous premieres, and awards from international festivals have made this cultural institution a leader in children’s theatre production.
The monograph serves as a reminder of the time and people who shaped an institution that has been educating and inspiring young audiences for seven decades.
– The Ministry of Education and Culture will continue to provide strong support to children’s creativity and the culture of remembrance, which is of great importance both for Banja Luka and for Republika Srpska – said Borivoje Golubović, Minister of Education and Culture.
The ceremony was also attended by SNSD President Milorad Dodik, who emphasized that seventy years of the Children’s Theatre in Banja Luka is not just an anniversary of an institution, but seventy years of childhood, smiles, first encounters with art, and moments that shape imagination and character. He added that he was especially touched by receiving an award the theatre had won in Beijing.
