Dodik: Political and ideological pressure from various occupiers on the Serb people has never ceased

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that there are ongoing attempts to eliminate Republika Srpska through a political project aimed at settling Bosniaks in its territory, but stressed that such efforts will not succeed.

“Political and ideological pressure from various occupiers on the Serb people has never stopped. We are hearing this again from Mr. Cerić, who is openly talking about settling Muslims in Republika Srpska in order to change its demographic structure. I want to make it clear that Republika Srpska is not his land, nor will it ever be,” Dodik said.

He emphasized that Muslims who live in Republika Srpska have the right to a peaceful and dignified life, but warned that any political project aimed at changing the demographic structure in order to eliminate Republika Srpska would fail.

“We know very well how Serbs live in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina — far worse than Bosniaks live in Republika Srpska. We must ensure that our people, wherever they live, have decent living conditions,” Dodik stated.

He added that it is sad to see the situation in areas of the Federation where Serbs live, while the situation is different in areas of Republika Srpska where Bosniaks live.

“That does not mean Republika Srpska is naïve or weak. We must unite around Republika Srpska. Our people have always done so when they were under threat, whenever there were attempts to erase us or make us disappear. What Cerić is now saying only confirms that,” Dodik said in Kozarska Dubica.

According to him, the same mindset exists in political Sarajevo, but Cerić has openly articulated it.

“This is nothing new. But if we do not rally around our Church, our name, and Republika Srpska, it could happen. Republika Srpska is the symbol of our freedom. It stands as a monument to all those who gave their lives throughout history for the Serb name and identity,” Dodik concluded.
