Milorad Dodik, President of SNSD, stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina will not join NATO because Republika Srpska opposes it, adding that Srpska is working to strengthen cooperation with Russia in all areas.
“Our policy does not include NATO membership. We are working to increase the intensity of cooperation with Russia in all fields — sports, culture, science, politics,” Dodik told TASS.
He stressed that nothing has changed in the political choices of the Serb people.
“Serbs love Russia and continue to support it. Russia is now in a justified and understandable defensive posture, and we hope it will emerge as the winner,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that only renewed cooperation with Russia can save Europe from collapse, noting that Europe’s economic success was largely based on access to Russian resources at affordable prices.
“Now that this is gone, we see Europe in a difficult economic situation. Its indicators are extremely low. There is recession, and problems with migrant inflows. Everything happening now could ultimately destroy Europe,” Dodik said.
Looking ahead, Dodik argued that Europe can remain successful only if Russia helps it — and he hopes such cooperation will be based on economic principles.
“It was easy to develop the German economy when they had cheap gas from Russia. But as soon as U.S. gas arrived — at triple the price — the German economic miracle collapsed. And I am certain that until Europe reintegrates with Russia, Europeans will not be able to achieve any success,” he said.
Europe will be the biggest loser after the war in Ukraine
Dodik said Europe will lose the most once the conflict in Ukraine ends, as it is already facing major economic challenges.
“When President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump reach an agreement, we will see an erosion of Europe’s elites — a process that has already begun and will eventually lead to their collapse,” he told TASS.
He argued that Europe lacks leaders capable of changing the course of events, noting that support for French President Emmanuel Macron is at 12 percent — “likely higher among migrants than among the domestic population” — while support for the German chancellor is also at a low level.
Speaking about the possibility of a military clash between Russia and Europe, Dodik said he completely agrees with the Russian president’s view that Europe does not have the strength to wage war against Russia.
“His message is honest and direct: you Europeans may try if you want, but we will not take any special action,” Dodik said.
He reiterated that Russia is in conflict with Ukraine not because it seeks to seize foreign territory, but because those territories have historically always belonged to Russia.
Dodik recalled that leaders of the former USSR sometimes made decisions that contradicted historical reality.
“That is why Crimea and part of Ukraine have now been returned to where they belong. Unfortunately, the Orthodox soul of the Russian people is also involved in this. We always believed that the people in Ukraine shared the same values and belonged to the same community,” he said.
He added that Serbs once similarly believed that the peoples of the former Yugoslavia were their brothers, “but it turned out not to be so.”
“Everything that happened here was part of the earlier strategy the West has been pursuing against Russia,” Dodik said.
