A puppet show titled “Zoo World” was performed at the Prijedor Theatre.

Using 58 puppets, nine young performers told a story about the importance of the plant and animal world and the protection of the environment.

Jovana Ćurković, who took part in the show, said this was her first time acting.

“I was an elf, a giraffe, a dog, a zebra, a snake, a bear—there were so many animals. I’m really happy I went on stage, saw the audience, and experienced acting for the first time,” Ćurković said.

Dušan Milošević also played several roles and emphasized their importance for the performance.

“I played a boy who sleeps and looks curiously at the animals. I think my role was important, especially because the entire story revolves around my dream. The show was truly wonderful, and we invested a lot of effort as a puppet studio,” Milošević said.

The enthusiasm of the youngest audience members also showed how much work was invested.

Teodor Kosić said he was thrilled by the penguins.

“Everything was good, everything okay. The most interesting moment was when the penguin appeared. What was a penguin doing there—he should be where the snow is,” Kosić said.

Ivona Daničić said she especially liked the dolphins.

Children from the Prijedor kindergarten also took part in the production.

Biljana Anđelić, director of the “Women in Art” Association in Prijedor, highlighted the importance of involving kindergarten children.

“The story is written based on poems by Dragana Kragulj, a well-known Prijedor poet. We included the little ones from the kindergarten so they could slowly get used to more serious theatre and puppetry work,” Anđelić said.

The puppet show “Zoo World” is expected to be performed in the kindergarten early next year.
