Cvijanović: Helez’s insult against the President of Serbia is scandalous and shameful

With people like Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Defence Minister Zukan Helez, it is impossible to build a shared future, coexistence, interethnic trust, or stable regional relations, stated Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency.

“That is a fact, and he proved it yet again with his latest statements. Like all before them, Helez’s newest insult directed at the President of Serbia is scandalous and shameful. The vile accusations and lies he uttered about President Vučić on Hayat TV are so disgraceful that a normal person would be ashamed to even repeat them,” she wrote on X.

She stressed that his insults toward Željana Zovko and Max Primorac, made in the same programme, were equally shameful.

“With those insults—as with the ones against President Vučić—he said far more about himself than about them. While he attacks officials and representatives of neighbouring countries, he simultaneously tries to deny Serbs in the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence of BiH their legal right to paid leave for their krsna slava,” Cvijanović added.

She said that, besides being a violation of the law, this is also an attack on the identity of Orthodox Christians employed in that institution.

“I remind him that Serbs have proudly celebrated their krsna slava even in much more difficult times than these. If various occupiers could not forbid it, neither will a petty agitator, a convicted abuser, and a convicted liar such as Zukan Helez,” she concluded.
