Power must be returned to democratic institutions, genuine rule of law must be established, and it must be acknowledged that Bosnia and Herzegovina can endure only through dialogue and the will of its constituent peoples—not through uncontrolled foreign intervention, said Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency.
Responding to the joint statement of the so-called Peace Implementation Council, which called for reforms to strengthen BiH’s sovereignty, Cvijanović wrote on X:
“This can only be achieved by dissolving the Peace Implementation Council, sending Christian Schmidt home, and abolishing the so-called Bonn powers, which have been used for unconstitutional centralisation and for maintaining a model of colonial governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
She added that only then will sovereignty truly exist.
“Otherwise, everything is just phraseology—an appropriate choice of words without real substance,” she stated.
