The theatre hall of the Trebinje Cultural Centre was too small to accommodate all visitors and lovers of Herzegovina’s heritage and traditional folklore.
GKUD “Alat Swisslion” will perform its traditional annual concerts this evening and on Sunday, 30 November, at 19:00 in the theatre hall of the Trebinje Cultural Centre.
Through dances from Herzegovina and the wider region, all ensembles of “Alat” — more than 250 performers — will present a programme described by the organisation as “woven from movement, values and heritage — a mosaic of dance and song that speaks beautifully about who we are and the path we belong to.”
All proceeds from ticket sales are designated for humanitarian purposes in support of the Saint Vukašin Foundation.
Tomorrow, members of the ensemble will take part in reforesting a section of the Crkvina forest that was damaged in a summer fire — a gesture that reflects Alat’s commitment to environmental preservation.
The programme will continue on Sunday with a performance by the younger ensemble of the cultural society.
All proceeds from both evenings will go to humanitarian causes.
