Children’s festival “Little Composer” opens in Banja Luka

The children’s music creation festival “Little Composer – Banja Luka 2025,” featuring participants from 15 cities across BiH, will be held today in Banja Luka.

Festival director Mladen Matović expressed satisfaction that this event — the only children’s music festival in BiH recognized within the official elementary school curriculum — is marking its 19th edition this year.

“Over the past 19 years, the ‘Little Composer’ festival has grown into a unique and established musical event that enables children to actively participate in every aspect — they are the composers, lyricists, performers, and the only jury,” Matović said.

He noted that during the selection of the best works, the selection committee once again observed improvement in both quality and quantity.

Festival producer Aleksa Savić said that for 19 years, the “Little Composer” festival has promoted the most talented children in music and literary creativity, while also actively supporting the promotion of children’s rights.

The festival will be held at the Banski Dvor Cultural Center.

The festival’s general patron is the Office of the President of Republika Srpska, with additional support from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska and the City of Banja Luka.
