Banjaluka welcomed 96,295 tourists in the first nine months of this year, marking a nine percent increase compared to the same period last year, the Banjaluka Tourist Organization announced. Officials expect the growth trend to continue until the end of the year.
According to the Tourist Organization, visitors recorded 148,738 overnight stays, up from 136,599 last year — an 8.8 percent increase. These figures refer only to registered tourists staying in hotels, motels, and guesthouses.
Mladen Šukalo, senior associate at the Banjaluka Tourist Organization, noted that an additional 3,037 arrivals and 5,733 overnight stays were registered in apartments, rental rooms, holiday homes, and rural tourism facilities, based on data collected since January 1.
In September alone, Banjaluka hosted 12,576 tourists, including 3,717 domestic and 8,859 foreign visitors, who achieved a total of 19,067 overnight stays — 1,915 more than in September last year. Domestic tourists accounted for 5,775 overnight stays, while foreign guests made 13,292.
Šukalo expressed optimism that by the end of the year, Banjaluka will reach 130,000 tourist arrivals and 200,000 overnight stays, Srna reported.
