Dodik: Incomplete Constitutional Court delivers political rulings; we move forward

The incomplete Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issues political rulings, as it has ignored the Constitution itself — which clearly states that laws in BiH can only be adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, said President Milorad Dodik.

“That means both the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples — together. The incomplete Constitutional Court has violated this, along with a series of its own previous decisions, in which it had stated that all legislative, executive, and judicial decisions at the BiH level must not contradict the constitutions of BiH, Republika Srpska, and the Federation of BiH. They have now breached this fundamental legal principle — something almost unbelievable,” Dodik wrote on the social platform X.

Dodik stressed that he intends to move forward.

“We are prepared to take the case before the European Court, but when it comes to political matters, they are ultimately resolved through political means. With such conduct and such a court, BiH stands no chance. By forcefully trying to impose political will under the guise of law, they are merely prolonging the era of global vultures who have, across many points in Europe and the world, sought to misuse judicial institutions to target political opponents — from U.S. President Donald Trump to Marine Le Pen, Romania, and many others,” Dodik concluded.
