Book “Serbs in the Crosswinds” presented to Belgrade audience

The book “Serbs in the Crosswinds” by former diplomat Rade Drobac was presented today in Belgrade. In this work, the author brings together texts written over the past 35 years, addressing some of the most important topics for the Serb people and the state.

Drobac said that his goal was to counter widespread propaganda, emphasizing that the Serbs have a long history they should remain rooted in while resisting all forms of imposed narratives.

Diplomat Živadin Jovanović stated that for those engaged in research and academia, this book will serve as a treasury of facts about events from the past three decades — many of which were systematically suppressed or concealed.

He underlined that Drobac clearly pointed out that Yugoslavia did not fall apart on its own, but was deliberately dismantled, a process that had been underway for decades.

“It was intentionally destroyed. We have German documents from 1976 that reveal how much Germany wanted to punish the Serb people, who had contributed to their defeat in both world wars,” Jovanović said.

Speaking about Kosovo and Metohija, Jovanović noted that Drobac consistently highlighted how Serbs have always managed to find the best path for self-preservation throughout history, relying on their own experience.

Publicist Dušan Milovanović said that Drobac’s book provides a valuable testimony that fills important gaps in understanding a turbulent period.

Journalist and writer Dragan Vujičić emphasized that more books should be written — and above all, dedicated to the Serb people.

The book was promoted at the Association of Journalists in Belgrade.
