President Milorad Dodik stated that Republika Srpska has managed to preserve its traditional and consistent relationship with Russia, describing it as a key element of Srpska’s foreign policy.
“We deeply respect President Vladimir Putin and his efforts to strengthen Russia while maintaining excellent cooperation with allies. We have managed to ensure that our relationship with Russia remains strong — it continues to be our strategic priority,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that the Russian special military operation was provoked by the unfair actions of Western countries, adding that the conflict could have been avoided.
“If U.S. President Donald Trump had been in power at that time, I believe that war would never have happened. It’s now clear that Western countries wanted that war,” Dodik noted.
According to him, Republika Srpska remains a strategic partner of the Russian Federation, and that policy will not change.
“This is what we have done and what we intend to continue doing. We will always engage in dialogue with our partners — Serbia, Hungary, Russia, and the U.S. administration,” Dodik said.
He added that Republika Srpska welcomed Donald Trump’s major victory and has never hidden its support for his return to office.
“Even when we spoke with our strategic partners in Russia, we openly said that we support Trump’s return to power — and I believe we were right. What he has done so far clearly shows that this is a shift toward stabilizing global relations,” Dodik emphasized.
He stressed that Republika Srpska wants to prove itself as a credible partner of the new American administration, pointing to shared values and respect for tradition.
“We support what President Trump has done in the U.S. regarding USAID and his efforts to preserve traditional values. He put an end to the destruction of the family institution, clearly stating that there are only a man — a father, and a woman — a mother. We fully support that. Returning to traditional relationships is the foundation of civilization that has endured for millennia,” Dodik said.
He expressed gratitude to Trump for his determination and courage in standing by those principles.
“Trump stopped major wars and continues to act in a way that reflects the philosophy of responsible international and diplomatic relations,” Dodik noted.
Concluding his remarks, Dodik reiterated Srpska’s dual commitment — to maintaining its strategic partnership with Russia while also being open to constructive relations with the United States.
“Trump said that America will not interfere but will seek partners. We want to be that partner — without endangering our strategic ties with the Russian Federation. Is that possible? We believe it is,” Dodik concluded.
