Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović spoke today with Gideon Saar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, and informed him about the harmful impact of foreign interventionism that has undermined the principle of equality among the constituent peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In a telephone conversation, Cvijanović expressed support for the institutions and people of Israel for their efforts that led to the signing of the peace agreement and the end of the conflict in Gaza.
Both officials agreed that the key role in achieving the peace agreement was played by U.S. President Donald Trump, whose personal engagement was essential for reaching the deal, according to a statement from the Cabinet of the Serb Member of the BiH Presidency.
Cvijanović emphasized her full commitment to further strengthening cooperation and friendly relations between Republika Srpska and Israel, as well as to reinforcing the traditional historical ties between the Serb and Jewish peoples.
Minister Saar informed Cvijanović about the implementation dynamics of the first phase of the peace agreement and the challenges encountered in its realization, SRNA reports.
Cvijanović maintains regular communication with leading Israeli officials. A month ago, she spoke with Tzachi Hanegbi, Head of Israel’s National Security Council and National Security Adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing condolences for the victims of the terrorist attack in Jerusalem and reaffirming the sincere and enduring friendship between Republika Srpska and the State of Israel.
She also recently held talks with Miki Zohar, Israel’s Minister of Culture and Sports.
