Dodik: Every act of dismantling the Dayton Agreement has killed Bosnia and Herzegovina

Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated that foreign powers have destroyed Bosnia and Herzegovina and made it an ungovernable country, stressing that every act of dismantling the Dayton Peace Agreement has effectively killed BiH.

“The Dayton Agreement was a chance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it has been dismantled and killed. Every act of undermining Dayton was an act of killing Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you destroy Dayton, you destroy BiH — that’s a clear connection,” said Dodik.

He emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina could have a future only if agreements, the Constitution, and the rule of law are respected, rather than imposed by foreign figures.

“I defend the letter of Dayton, while they promote the so-called spirit of Dayton. We live in a time when lies are presented as truth, and truth as lies. When we demand respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement, they accuse us of being anti-Dayton and claim we don’t follow their rules. No — we respect an international treaty, while they create their own rules for themselves,” Dodik said in the latest documentary by Boris Malagurski.

The President of Republika Srpska stated that war has never crossed his mind, adding that those who want war are trying to blame others for it.

“Those who are dissatisfied — namely, the Bosniaks — are trying to provoke a warlike situation, and I think that would be their war of revenge. But that’s a game without any rational calculation,” Dodik noted.

He added that he never entertained such thoughts, emphasizing that even during the Yugoslav wars he stood for peace and has no reason to stage any kind of conflict.

“I’m not worried, because I know I’m on the right side and that I have the people behind me — the same people who have been electing me for 20 years,” Dodik concluded.
