At the proposal of the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, the Presidency of BiH unanimously adopted today in Sarajevo the nomination of U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Cvijanović first submitted the initiative on August 22, proposing that President Trump be nominated for the award.
In her explanation, Cvijanović emphasized that during his second term, President Donald Trump achieved significant diplomatic results that left a lasting mark on international relations and contributed to the stabilization of numerous global crises through his personal authority and efforts.
“Recognizing his efforts and achievements in the field of peace, I consider it justified and deserved that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina decide to propose His Excellency President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” stated the Serb member of the Presidency in her initiative.
She added that the resolution of the Gaza conflict represents Trump’s latest major diplomatic success.
At the session held on August 25, members of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, had previously refused to include the initiative in the agenda.
