Koljević: Russia’s presentation of Republika Srpska’s report at the UN Security Council is an opportunity to reveal all injustices committed against Srpska

Given the significance of the current global political moment, the Valdai Summit was exceptional, and President Vladimir Putin’s address was historic, said Republika Srpska Senator Bogdana Koljević.

Koljević explained that numerous diplomatic, political, and security aspects were clarified or precisely defined at the forum, making the contours of a new emerging world clearer and more tangible.

“In this context, President Dodik’s participation at the summit, as well as his meeting with the Russian president, should be viewed as highly significant. One of the most relevant political points made by President Putin was the reaffirmation of the United Nations—his insistence that this global body has no alternative, and that the problems arose from its misuse, not from its concept. The true potential of the UN remains extraordinary,” Koljević emphasized.

She stressed that it is vital for Russia, during its current presidency of the UN Security Council, to reaffirm its own positions—advocating a return to global balance and recognizing the reality of a multipolar world that no longer operates on domination, hierarchy, or neocolonialism. “This also means a revival of classical diplomacy,” she noted.

“The West has failed to establish its hegemony or its so-called ‘rules-based order,’ which is actually based on force. It has not solved a single global problem; in fact, the problems have only deepened,” Koljević said.

For this reason, she added, Russia is ready to make a diplomatic precedent by presenting Republika Srpska’s report on the situation in BiH before the UN Security Council.

“Russia has always been a traditional ally of Srpska, and relations have been steadily strengthened, with Moscow being fully informed about developments important to Banja Luka. But this moment goes beyond bilateral relations—it concerns the collapse of international law and the post-World War II global order, which began with the bombing of Republika Srpska in 1995 and Serbia in 1999,” Koljević pointed out.

She emphasized that the voice of Republika Srpska is now returning to the world stage so that it can finally be heard.
“This is no longer a matter of symbolism or moral justice—it reflects Russia’s principled view that we must always begin by asking about the origins and causes of problems. The era of neoliberal force began with the use of force against the Serbs, so it is natural that its collapse and the restoration of a just international system should also begin there,” Koljević said.

She added that Russia’s presentation of Srpska’s report at the UN Security Council will give the global audience an opportunity to learn about all the injustices committed against Republika Srpska.
“This will mark the beginning of the second phase of what I called six months ago the internationalization of the Serb question by Republika Srpska—a process whose time has come. The first phase was successfully completed when Srpska’s principles were clearly presented in both Moscow and Washington during a series of meetings. Now comes the phase where the broader world will hear Srpska’s truth,” Koljević said.

The report, she explained, will primarily focus on reaffirming the original Dayton Agreement, supported by Russia as one of its guarantors, aligning with the official positions of Republika Srpska’s institutions defending Dayton’s founding principles.
“Most importantly, Russia will strongly advocate for an end to foreign interference in BiH’s internal affairs and for the termination of the destructive activities of the OHR and Christian Schmidt. This directly corresponds with President Dodik’s appeal to the Russian president—that Srpska must not be left to the Germans or Brussels bureaucrats, especially now, when fascism is again spreading across Europe and the drums of war are once more being heard. In this light, the only realistic solution lies in a Russian-American agreement supported by the majority of the free world,” Senator Bogdana Koljević concluded.
