Trifković: Political Sarajevo receives fuel from Brussels for destructive activities pushing Srpska out of BiH

Analyst Srđa Trifković assessed that the messages of EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos during her visit to BiH were full of hypocrisy and untruths, adding that political Sarajevo receives fuel from Brussels for destructive activities that push Republika Srpska out of BiH.

Trifković said that Kos’s speech yesterday before the members of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly was filled with clichés and that her entire address was condescending toward the audience.

“She said that the EU offers peace, freedom, security, and a strong economy. That is rather interesting, considering that the EU, or more precisely its leading members Germany, France, and Poland, advocate the continuation of the war in Ukraine,” said Trifković, who is also a professor of international relations.

He argued that it was unfounded to blame Republika Srpska for the stagnation on the EU path, stressing that Kos’s statements were nothing more than a call to accept the illegal decisions of the illegitimate High Representative and judicial bodies not provided for by the Dayton Agreement.

Trifković also pointed out that problems cannot be solved in Sarajevo, as Brussels insists.

“Political Sarajevo receives fuel from Brussels for destructive activities that push Republika Srpska out of BiH. It is as if you entrusted Marta Kos, as commissioner, with guarding Republika Srpska from itself. That is like entrusting Count Dracula with guarding a blood transfusion center,” Trifković stressed.

Regarding the freedom that Kos spoke of, Trifković pointed to the blocking of presidential candidate Calin Djurdescu in Romania, the judicial exclusion of Marine Le Pen from political life in France, and the treatment of “Alternative for Germany” by the German authorities, despite the party enjoying the support of about one-third of the population.

“They are targeting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, accusing him of being an autocrat, even though he is the politician with the greatest democratic credibility in the entire EU, among all 27 member states. That support has been confirmed at the polls,” Trifković told Srna.

He added that the call for BiH not to miss the next wave of enlargement was hypocritical, since everyone knows—including Kos herself—that no such wave will occur.

“There is neither a possibility nor a will for enlargement. If Berlin and Paris do not want enlargement, there will be none,” Trifković emphasized.

In that regard, he described the commissioner’s statement as destabilizing, since she claimed that membership is the only way to preserve peace and stability.

“It is a tragicomic statement to say that the absence of Western Balkan integration into the EU is one of the saddest days. There have been many sad moments, including the war in Ukraine provoked by the policies of the collective West, as well as migration threatening to destroy traditional European countries, cultures, and civilization,” said Trifković, who is also a historian.

This publicist expressed doubt about claims that anyone genuinely wants to see BiH as a full member of the EU, given that there are no surveys or opinions from European citizens on this issue.

“Marta Kos uses rhetoric based on unverified facts,” concluded Trifković.
