World Accordion Cup in East Sarajevo

Organized by the World Confederation for the Accordion, the 78th World Accordion Cup began this evening in East Sarajevo, with 95 competitors from 23 countries taking part.

Over five days, competitions in various disciplines will be held, along with competition-concert evenings.

As part of the World Cup, the Congress of the World Confederation will also be held, at which new leadership will be elected.

Mirko Patarini, President of the World Confederation for the Accordion, expressed satisfaction that this year’s competition is being held in East Sarajevo.

He said that this is the 78th competition, adding that the 90th anniversary of the World Confederation is also being celebrated.

Dean of the Music Academy of the University of East Sarajevo, Maja Žuža, expressed satisfaction that the Academy has the opportunity to be part of the most important event in the world of classical accordion.

She emphasized that the competition in East Sarajevo is a great honor not only for the Music Academy, but also for Republika Srpska and BiH, in a professional, touristic, and every other sense.
