Due to the event “Banja Luka Marathon – Banja Luka Half Marathon”, on Sunday, September 28, traffic will be suspended in several city streets, the Department of Traffic and Roads announced.
A complete suspension from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. is planned in the following streets: Teodora Kolokotronisa, Vojvode Pere Krece, Braće Jugović, Od Zmijanja Rajka, Kragujevačkih i Kraljevačkih žrtava, Sime i Ilije Partala, as well as Jagarska Street from the intersection with Sime i Ilije Partala to “Drvoprodukt,” and Jagare Street from “Drvoprodukt” to the church in Karanovac.
During the same period, the following will also be closed: part of Gavrila Principa Street from Miloša Obilića to Branka Morače, Branka Morače Street, part of Skendera Kulenovića from Branka Morače to Duška Koščice, King Petar I Karađorđević Street from Duška Koščice to Cara Dušana Boulevard, as well as part of the same street from Cara Dušana Boulevard to Olympic Winners Street.
From 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. traffic will not be possible in Olympic Winners Street from King Petar I Karađorđević Street to Gundulićeva, then in Gundulićeva, Gavre Vučkovića, Majke Jugovića, Krfska, part of Gavrila Principa from Stevana Bulajića Street to Braće Jugović, as well as part of Braće Jugović Street from Gavrila Principa to Vojvode Pere Krece.
During the suspension, routes of city and suburban public transport buses will be modified. A large number of lines will be redirected to the Eastern and Western Transit roads, while line number 17 will not operate. On lines that pass through King Petar I Karađorđević Street, buses will be redirected to the transit routes. Suburban and intercity lines from the north will run only to the “Malta” parking lot. Lines from the direction of Čelinac will be redirected via Srpska Army Boulevard, while line 14 will operate through Srpskih Ustanika, Jug Bogdana, Desanka Maksimović Boulevard, Petar Bojović Boulevard, Srpska Army Boulevard, Trive Amelice, and Krajiških Brigada to the roundabout near the Gymnasium.
Traffic control and redirection will be carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which appeals to citizens to show patience and caution during the event.
