The Brussels administration constantly lectures us on the rule of law, while in BiH an unelected foreigner, Christian Schmidt, is governing, Radovan Kovačević, the Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, told RTRS.
Kovačević emphasized that the fundamental problem is the hypocrisy of the Brussels administration.
“I hear that the Commissioner for European Integration, Marta Koš, said in Sarajevo today that the key problem is secessionism in Republika Srpska. Brussels constantly lectures us about the rule of law, and at the same time they want us to accept that rule of law in BiH means that one unelected foreigner, contrary to the Constitution, can impose and change laws. They are trying, on the basis of his decisions, to persecute political representatives of the people and citizens who were elected in free and democratic elections,” Kovačević said.
Kovačević added that they are being prosecuted because they respected the Constitution.
“I really don’t know where that could be accepted,” Kovačević said.
He asked whether there is anyone in Europe or the world who would accept such a thing.
“That is nothing but humiliation — a message from the Brussels administration that we are worth less than everyone else in Europe. But the Serbs and Republika Srpska will not accept that. Tell us where there is a single country in the European Union where such a thing is possible, or if there was any country in the EU where it was done while it was a candidate for EU membership. Or is this intended only for BiH?! Specifically only for the Serbs and for Republika Srpska — only to persecute Serbian elected representatives and Serbian leaders,” he said.
He reiterated that Republika Srpska will certainly not comply.
“Since I see talk that Marta Koš is allegedly invited to address a joint session of both houses, I checked — the Parliamentary Assembly has not decided on that,” Kovačević stressed.
He said the Joint Colloquium of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly did not hold any session on this topic.
“Again, where is it possible to go to any country and convene a parliamentary session yourself and speak whenever it suits you? Presumably you request or propose and then wait for the host’s answer. After that the host says yes or no. We do not allow you to address us unilaterally. It seems only in BiH can you behave this way, claiming that the rule of law is legal violence and legal aggression against the Serbs and Republika Srpska, even against BiH. And you schedule sessions of BiH bodies whenever you feel like it. You come here to give us shameless lectures about some alleged rule of law, while at the same time asking us to accept legal violence and our own humiliation,” Kovačević said.
He reminded that SNSD and the entire ruling coalition from Republika Srpska will not attend the session.
“The SNSD caucus in the House of Representatives, as well as the entire ruling coalition from Republika Srpska, have already said that we will not attend that circus and disgrace. If there are those who agree to that kind of humiliation, we certainly will not, because we represent Republika Srpska, the Serb people. We represent all citizens of Republika Srpska, and they are not inclined to any humiliation. Srpska will prevail,” Kovačević concluded.
