The Co-Chairman of the Parliamentary Forum Republika Srpska–Serbia, Srđan Mazalica, emphasized that the Serb people have always aspired to universal ideas, while others pursued only their partial interests.
“It is precisely ideas such as the Day of Serb Unity, Freedom and the National Flag that are key—along with the ideas of economic, demographic, and overall progress—because in the last hundred years Serbs have brought such ideas to other peoples as well. We have always aspired to universal ideas, while others were only focused on their partial interests,” Mazalica stated.
He added that the Serb people should continue on this path of universal ideas, offering them to other nations as well when it comes to regional stability, economic and demographic development, and resolving some of the open issues in the Western Balkans.
“We need to assume a leadership role, because the Serb people are precisely those who, in all fields—science, sports, art, literature—offer leadership. I think this should be the message from a gathering such as this: that we should exchange ideas, particularly regarding our work on legislation, but also discuss how to ensure unity, not only among ourselves but within our state and people. At the same time, we should offer this vision—let me say this idea—to other states and nations as well,” Mazalica concluded.
