Government of Republika Srpska responds reciprocally to Slovenia – entry ban for Nataša Pirc Musar and Tanja Fajon

The Government of Republika Srpska today expressed protest over Slovenia’s unilateral and politically motivated decision to impose a ban on the entry of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

At its second telephone session, the Government of Republika Srpska assessed that the entry ban against the President of Srpska was adopted without a clear legal basis or justification, representing direct interference in internal affairs, a violation of international conventions, and a step backward in relations and in the European perspective of the region.

“In order to protect the political and institutional integrity of Republika Srpska, the Government of Republika Srpska, in line with international practices, is adopting reciprocal measures, introducing a ban on entry into Republika Srpska for Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, and Tanja Fajon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia,” the conclusions from today’s session state.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has been instructed to prevent these persons from entering the territory of Republika Srpska, and, in the case of their presence in Srpska, to escort them out of its borders.
