Kaluža: Important messages from Lavrov

International relations expert Luciano Kaluža said that the messages from Moscow delivered by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov after his meeting with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik are crucial for BiH, stressing that Russia clearly supports the Dayton Peace Agreement while rejecting interventionism and the judicial persecution of legally elected representatives of the people.

“Lavrov stated that a coup d’état is underway in BiH, led by Western structures and the illegitimate Christian Schmidt. The Russian Federation does not recognize the disgraceful verdict handed down to the legally elected president of Republika Srpska by the so-called Court of BiH. By officially receiving the president of Republika Srpska, the Russian Federation demonstrated that it does not recognize such decisions,” Kaluža emphasized.

He noted that Russia does not recognize Christian Schmidt either, describing him as someone who came to create chaos and fuel potential conflicts in BiH.

“The Russian Federation has identified this clearly, stating that if the coup attempt continues, it could lead to conflicts across the entire Balkans,” Kaluža said.

He underlined that Russia has recognized all the key problems in BiH and that a redefinition of relations is necessary, including respect for Republika Srpska based on the Dayton Agreement, in order to preserve stability.

“It is also necessary to accept the fact that Schmidt is not a legal figure who can reside in BiH,” Kaluža stressed.

He added that Republika Srpska stands for peace, unlike representatives of Western countries who act otherwise.

“Russia has given its support to Dayton BiH. This is the strongest support for Dayton in this way, and if the political structures in the Federation of BiH are willing to recognize it, they should embrace Lavrov’s statements,” Kaluža concluded.
