The final, eighth round of the Boxing League of Republika Srpska will be held next Sunday in Rogatica.
The small town on the banks of the Rakitnica River will, for the first time, host such a sporting event, organized by the “Radenko Mišević” Center for Culture and Sports with the consent of the Boxing Federation of Republika Srpska and under the patronage of the Rogatica Municipal Administration.
“If weather conditions permit, the competition will be held at the small sports stadium in the center of Rogatica, with the alternative being the sports hall in the former ‘Roteks-Alpo’ complex. Around 20 bouts in different categories are planned. Since Rogatica does not yet have a boxing club, with the support of our neighbors from Sokolac, where the Glasinac Boxing Club is active, we will do everything to ensure that this event is successful and becomes the reason for establishing a boxing club here in Rogatica,” said Center director Slaviša Bojović.
Local boxing enthusiasts are already members of the club in Sokolac, including cadet Todor Cvijetić, competing in the under-60kg category, and junior Vuk Ćajić, competing in the under-57kg category. With many Rogatica residents being fans of boxing, there is no doubt that the venue – wherever the boxers step into the ring – will be filled.
The fights will be held under Olympic standards, admission is free, and the event begins at 16:00.
