President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik believes that America, if it acts rationally and follows the policy of President Donald Trump, has no reason to send an ambassador to Sarajevo, and that such diplomatic coverage should come from Belgrade or Zagreb.
“That is quite enough. In any case, BiH is an illusion built all this time by Trump’s opponents. And I think that message must reach President Trump. They have fed that illusion with constant attacks on Republika Srpska, by taking away its rights to satisfy certain appetites,” Dodik emphasized.
He stated that he had discussed the current situation with U.S. President’s special envoy Richard Grenell in Montenegro.
“Grenell is a man full of energy who knows this region, who understands what is happening here. He is very close to President Trump, that is well known, and Grenell is dedicated to implementing Trump’s policy around the world. That was enough for us,” Dodik told Politika.
He added that Grenell was accompanied by his associates, and that BiH Presidency Serb member Željka Cvijanović also took part in the talks.
“From this distance, I can now say, we did discuss ways to cooperate with President Trump’s new administration and how to ensure that this cooperation would be successful, and in that regard, what each of us needs to do,” Dodik concluded.
