The new season of the m:tel First League of Republika Srpska will begin on September 13/14, followed a week later by the start of the m:tel Women’s First League and the m:tel Second League, Group “West,” while Group “East” will kick off on September 27/28 of this year.
This decision was unanimously adopted at the session of the Management Board of the Handball Federation of Republika Srpska held in Banja Luka.
Aleksandar Vrhovac was appointed commissioner for the men’s league, Bogdan Rankić will continue to oversee the women’s league, while Obrenko Miljković will remain commissioner of the Youth League. At the same time, lists of referees and delegates were confirmed for both the Republika Srpska and BiH levels.
“Last season was successful, and we are very satisfied, just as we are with refereeing. We look forward to the new competition cycle and I believe we will once again have a very high-quality league, both in men’s and women’s competition,” said Marinko Umičević, president of the Handball Federation of Republika Srpska.

President Umičević also briefed those present on the recently held youth handball camps in Trebinje and Belgrade (“Serbia is Calling You”), noting that young handball players from Republika Srpska represented their homeland with dignity, received new sports equipment, and were given 100 KM pocket money for their stay at both camps.
He also praised the Youth Handball Assembly held in Banja Luka and the final tournament of the Youth League in mini handball, which took place in Bijeljina with a record number of participants.
Discussing the situation in the Handball Federation of BiH, members of the Management Board of the Handball Federation of Republika Srpska once again stressed the issue of the tax registration number, emphasizing that the wartime tax number of the Federation in Sarajevo cannot be accepted.
