The picture book “The Story of Gomionica Monastery” will be promoted on August 29 at 7 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall of the National and University Library of Republika Srpska.
At the same time, an exhibition of the same name will be opened, with the entire program organized on the occasion of the 60th Kočić Gathering.
The author of the picture book is Archimandrite Platon (Jović), and the publisher is the National and University Library of Republika Srpska. The co-publisher is Stuplje Monastery.
For the youngest visitors attending the promotion, picture books and suitable gifts have been prepared.
– Gomionica Monastery is a holy place where the name of God has been glorified for more than 500 years. The monks and nuns who lived in the monastery through the centuries dedicated their lives to serving God and our people. In the time when modern printing devices did not exist, the monks of Gomionica Monastery wrote and transcribed important books, painted icons, and created various objects for the monastery’s needs – reads the preface of the author of the picture book.
