Senator of Republika Srpska Srđa Trifković stated to SRNA that a referendum is needed as a reflection of the unity of the people following the ruling against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH, emphasizing that opposition parties have behaved ambivalently on this issue.
- I believe this would send a good signal to them that now it is necessary to close ranks. This is truly about Republika Srpska, not Milorad Dodik, said Trifković, who is a professor of international relations.
He considers it particularly ironic that the referendum and expression of the will of the people will be condemned by those who remained silent when unconstitutional decisions were made that triggered the process against the President of Republika Srpska.
- The referendum will be condemned as illegal and unconstitutional by the same people who support a ruling based on illegal and unconstitutional grounds. This concerns the powers of the High Representative, his status, and the legitimacy of the BiH Court, Trifković stated.
