Serbs in Austria are concerned about the ruling against the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, Mladen Filipović, head of the Republika Srpska Representation in Austria, told RTRS.
- We will not allow the institutions of Republika Srpska to be undermined, Filipović stated.
He noted that the Serbian diaspora is working to inform Austrian citizens about events in BiH, and that a new information campaign regarding developments in BiH will follow in early September.
He pointed out that political contexts presented in Austria as acting against the Constitution are, according to him, absolutely untrue.
The head of the RS Representation said there is cooperation with Austrian media regarding the media portrayal of Republika Srpska and that, according to him, the Austrian public is changing its perception of Republika Srpska.
Filipović said that the referendum is a very important democratic tool that must be fully utilized.
- We have already had the opportunity to support institutions in a referendum. In Austria, there were long lines during the previous referendum. Considering the importance of this referendum for our diaspora, there will be high turnout and citizen interest, Filipović stated.
He added that at this moment unity is needed and appealed for people not to fall for possible provocations.
- The referendum will show what citizens think and how they stand behind the president of Republika Srpska and its institutions, Filipović said.
Filipović emphasized that no one else will be allowed to make decisions in the name of the people of Republika Srpska.
