The Presidency of the Republican Party of Srpska (RSS) convened today in Bijeljina in response to the Central Election Commission of BiH’s decision to revoke the mandate of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik. Party president Slavenko Ristić emphasized that the recent developments are clear evidence of neocolonial ambitions by foreign powers and represent yet another attempt to sow division and unrest in the region.
Ristić affirmed the RSS’s support for the legitimacy of Republika Srpska’s institutions and stressed that stripping the president of his mandate constitutes a direct attack on the state order.
“What we are witnessing is yet another performance directed by foreign powers and the so-called high representative, who claims the right to interpret the Dayton Peace Agreement as he sees fit—or more precisely, as he is told to. Throughout history, foreign actors have never sought to bring peace, but rather conflict and unrest, exploiting everything of value in a country—its people and its culture,” Ristić stated.
He underlined that the revocation of Dodik’s mandate is an attempt to establish indirect political control over Republika Srpska—and BiH more broadly.
“The CEC’s decision is a blow against the individual who represents Republika Srpska and embodies its national unity. The Republican Party of Srpska once again calls for respect for the law, not the imposition of decisions that deepen divisions among the peoples of BiH,” Ristić concluded.
