The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated for SRNA that “Sarajevo’s political swamp is exerting pressure on the judiciary to achieve its political goals.”
“It’s classic behavior — they always need help from either foreigners or the judiciary, and now they’re trying to harness both through Christian Schmidt,” said Cvijanović when asked to comment on the recent statement by Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković regarding a potential verdict against the president of Republika Srpska.
She emphasized that Konaković, whom she described as “devoid of ideas,” is simply fighting for political survival.
“He and his friends from what they like to call the ‘state-level government’ are shouting ‘catch the thief!’ just to deflect attention from their own corruption and illegal dealings — all under the pretense of protecting the state from Dodik.”
“That so-called ‘Trojka’ is a clueless, unsuccessful, and utterly pointless political creation brought to power because a foreigner decided to suspend the Constitution of the Federation of BiH for a day. I believe Konaković is driven by anxiety, which is why he keeps repeating himself like a broken record,” Cvijanović stated.
She added that Konaković “achieved nothing during his visit to the United States, nor anywhere else,” and that his rhetoric only serves to further contaminate the country he claims to defend on the domestic front, while on the international stage, he demonstrates what a state looks like when it’s been paralyzed by various foreign interventions that have nothing to do with the Dayton Agreement.
